We are just 30 days away from our field of dreams! This trip has been years in the dream stage for Jim and I. The planning stage for this adventure has taken several months and hundreds of hours. We have created list after list and have become experts at using our notes app. Jim has spent hundreds of hours schooling himself on YouTube on a variety of RV topics (thankfully he started using his earbuds!). Anybody that knows me, knows that I am a planner! Part of my planning included writing letters to all the Major League Baseball teams for tips to make our experience the very best. We were truly excited when the calls, emails and even a personal note began arriving from various ball clubs. The Yankees called and offered us a free tour of Yankees stadium, the Twins called and will be giving us a personal tour of their stadium with access to the field during batting practice! The Braves emailed and will be delivering a special treat to our seats. The White Sox called and now I am best friends with their guest relations department after a 30 minute phone conversation. Surprisingly, we received a handwritten note from the Red Sox (who does that anymore?). Then the Rockies emailed a huge list of things to do prior to game day with many tips once we are inside the park. Currently, those are the only teams we have heard from so I’ll send out follow up notes to the other ballparks. Because of the great people we have interacted with through our correspondence, we decided to prepare gift bags to thank them when we make our visit. I did my due diligence on researching RV sites as well as the best apps for navigating in an RV. Our binder of reservations is overflowing with paperwork for 32 different RV parks. Speaking of overflowing, our recycling bin is full weekly with Amazon boxes. Amazon has been delivering nonstop to our house with a variety of RV needs due to Jim’s YouTube research. Thanks to us, Amazon stock is rising. We have created a calling card with our personal information and QR code to our blog that we can hand out along our travels. Of course what Bray trip would be complete without t-shirts! So to work I went to design our t-shirt that resembles concert t-shirts with our tour schedule on the back of them. Stay tuned for pictures. Of course, Dave Ramsey, our financial mentor, said we needed a budget. So we developed a budget spreadsheet to track our expenditures. Definitely a costly trip but so worthy of fulfilling our dream. We have purchased our tickets for all ballparks except for the Tigers as we are awaiting a head count of friends who will be joining us there. Excitement is upon us while we put the final details together for this once in a lifetime trip. We hope you click the follow button to join us on our adventure. PLAY BALL!
